Since the 2nd of November, Carlos Reis is the Associate Executive Producer, responsible for the international department of Garage Films in Lisbon. “In the first years of Garage Films in Lisbon the focus was clearly in the local market, but after that period it made sense to develop the international market”. His work will focus mainly in two areas: to produce in Portugal for foreign production companies and to help directors and clients from Garage, whenever they need, to shoot abroad. As Executive producer and Managing Partner, in October of 1993 he founded A Filmar Produções, and in the beginning of this year he has launched Take Away Films, a production company that deals only with service on the production of commercials. According to Carlos Reis, “even if you have a good network connection, the international market deals with a huge competition. Beyond the usual services, the clients are searching more and more creative approaches from production companies. That is what Garage is about. It has the structure to make things easier”.
